Example- he wants to get success in the examination by hook or by crook

Example- Every person is busy in his bread and butter.

Example- when all were silent for a long time I decided to break the ice.

Example- I can’t work with him as he is blockhead.

Example- A bigger cries for the moon if he wishes to have car.

Example- you should not feel sorry for your failure because it is only crying over spilt milk.

25. Crocodile tears- show of false sorrow or sympathy

Example- The mother shed crocodile tears over the death of her stepson.

Example- thief was caught red handed.

Example- he has money enough and to spare.

Example- my uncle is living from hand to mouth   as he is out of employment.

Example- Lisa got into trouble by backbiting her principal.

Example-    the Independence Day is a gala day for every Indian.

34. Hue and cry- great noise

Example- they raised hue and cry when they saw the terrorists in the house.

35. Hold one’s tongue- to be quiet

Example- he must hold his tongue in our family matters.

36. In a fix – to be unable to decide one thing or the other.

Example- He is in a fix so he is unable to do anything.

37. In the air- heard everywhere

Example- the news of his transfer is in the air.

Example- we all reached at the bus stand in the nick of time.

Example- I know INS and out of your next plan.

40. In the prime of time- in the young age

Example- he died in the prime of his life.
